Glass in the sand

I’ve bought the lighter “brushed metal effect” polish by Catrice. And it’s a wonderful beige with gold shimmer. The brushed metal means it’s grainy, so the finish is like the beach sand. I spruced it up with the Glorious Aquarius glitter topper by Essence. I hesitated with buying this glitter since I have so many already, but it is gorgeous. It’s mainly teal and some gold hex glitter, with tiny holo glitter mixed in. I love it.

Preview for tomorrow… birthday nails 😉

My First Orly Polish…

… is freaking awesome! I love the color, the shift from pink to copper. I love the application, the non-slip cap, the fact that it doesn’t form bubbles even if you apply three coats quite quickly. I used three coats … Continue reading

The moving is done, let’s polish

Hi guys,

so I’ve spent this weekend moving and settling in my new home/room in Brno. I’ve already had a welcome day in the new job and I’m looking forward to tomorrow, because I’m finally going to actually begin my training. Meanwhile I’m going to show you my first-day-at-new-work manicure… While getting to know the new town, I also managed to find some interesting polishes (how unexpected 🙂 ) Since the Catrice stands can be found in this beautiful town, I’ll probably end up buying bunch of their polishes, because I love their colors and LE’s. This mani is in fact consisting of all three of the new polishes I bought yesterday. The base is a gorgeous purple-grey in brushed metal finish (which basically means matte and grainy to the touch – I’ll post a mani where it can be seen better later), the effect is quite interesting, but since you can’t really put a topcoat on it, I worried it wouldn’t survive long enough today. Anyhow, I also wanted to try out the other polishes I bought. So I ended up covering the matte polish with the Smoky top coat – a black jelly with a lot of small and big silver glitter. I expected it to be a very sheer black jelly, but the result after 2 coats looks opaque enough that none of the grey beneath doesn’t show. I’ll see, how it’ll look on naked nails. This is my first jelly based polish with glitter and I just love the hidden glitters peeking from the glossy jelly.

After the jelly try-out, I also added a flashy accent with the a Gold leaf top coat. This one is light gold mix of tiny and medium hex glitters, it’s wonderfully smooth and I think 2-3 coats would completely bedazzle your nails. Which I’m also going to try, of course 😀

Addicted to purple glitter, among other things

Oh, holy purple glitter, how I adore thee! Today I’ve seen tons of polishes in a local Douglas drugstore… all pretty much cremes in the usual range with an occasional exception of the gorgeous Dior polish (I mean this one) and a few others that are totally out of my price range. In short, nothing interesting I could actually buy.

Then I stopped at one shop that sells Golden Rose cosmetics and also nail polishes. Sometimes, when I’m lucky enough, there are some interesting bits to find.

Like this totally gorgeous nail art glitter polish. It’s fine purple glitter in unusually bright shade with mixed holographic glitters. It’s absolutely my type of polish 🙂 This was the only one of the nail art collection that has two kinds of glitter, even though the other colors aren’t bad, there are usually cremes and a few bold glitters.

There you have it… my precious 😉 My polish stash is starting to be overcome by purple polish…

Duochrome cheat

Ok, I’ve done a little cheating with this one 😉 It’s a sparkly purple base with sponged diagonal gradient made in a copper shimmery topper (probably similar to CND Copper shimmer). It ended up looking like a pinkish copper – purple duochrome polish which I love… the fire it has is wonderful.
